“Find your life, you’ll find your love,” is the slightly nauseating mantra of Sam de Brito, blogger for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.
De Brito says the way to “become a man that women want” is “by having a life that’s attractive to women”.
“That means having a job that means something to you, that you enjoy,” he says. “That means having a good circle of friends; that means not engaging in self-destructive behaviour; being healthy and having shit going on in your life.
“When women are presented with a guy that’s got this yawning chasm of nothingness, they go, ‘Shit, he’s going to want to suck my life out of me.’ If a guy’s got a full, fun life, he’s an attractive proposition because a woman realises she’s stepping into something bigger than herself.”
Sounds like hard work – but there’s more…
“Obviously there’s plenty of superficial stuff as well,” Sam continues. “If you want to be attractive to women you have to accept that women want a guy who grooms himself. You need to do things like cut your fingernails and brush your teeth and have a pair of jeans that doesn’t have semen or hamburger juice or Jim Beam on it.
“You also need to understand what’s interesting to women, and it’s not your job. I think it’s being more interested in the person you’re talking to; being actually interested in what they have to say and who they are as a person, and approaching any woman as an individual, rather than a vagina on legs.”
